Of the event, The Hello in There Foundation’s Jody Whelan shares, “Everyone in the Prine and Oh Boy Records family has long admired the incredible work that Healing Appalachia and Hope in the Hills have supported. We’re really excited to partner with them for this event; the organizations we’re granting have such important missions, and the show is going to be a lot of fun!”
Additionally, Hope in the Hills’ Tracey Levine shares, “It has long been our vision to expand our reach to assist Nashville based organizations who are working incredibly hard to make recovery accessible to all. This is an exciting time for Hope In the Hills and this event will be the first of many!”
ABOUT THE HELLO IN THERE FOUNDATION
The Hello in There Foundation is an initiative established by the family of John Prine, to honor his memory and continue the love, kindness and generosity he shared with the world. The work of the foundation will be inspired and guided by John’s simple song title, “Hello In There.” Their mission aims to identify and collaborate with individuals and communities to offer support for people who are marginalized, discriminated against or, for any reason, are otherwise forgotten.
ABOUT HOPE IN THE HILLS
Hope in the Hills is a non-profit organization committed to combatting the opioid crisis and support recovery across Appalachia. Created by a group of local community members and members of Tyler Childers’ team, Hope in the Hills raises funds and awareness to combat addiction with initiatives such as youth programs and recovery houses. Hope in the Hills celebrates recovery through their main event Healing Appalachia each September, as well as work year-round on more projects to foster these communities.
