CARIN LEÓN PERFORMS SECOND WEEKEND OF COACHELLA, RECEIVES KEY TO THE CITY

LEÓN WILL MAKE HISTORY AT STAGECOACH NEXT FRIDAY, APRIL 26

April 21, 2024—This evening, Carin León took the mainstage of Coachella for weekend two of the festival, bringing out surprise guests Kane Brown, performing the duo's critically acclaimed hit collaboration “The One (Pero No Como Yo,” and legendary Mexican Rock band Molotov, performing their classic songs “Puto,” “Frijolero” and “Voto Latino.”

Yesterday, León was presented the key to the city of Coachella by Mayor Steven Hernandez and the City Council, honoring him in a ceremony outside the Coachella Library. With hundreds of city residents and fans in attendance, León lifted the key and performed three songs for the cheering crowd.

León's first set was one of the most celebrated of weekend one, as Billboard raved over his “soulful tunes and tremendous vocals that roared across the desert,” while Rolling Stone praised him for “[melding] roots-music traditions from across the U.S. and Mexico, serving the audience a comforting blend of norteño and American blues and country.”

León is set to perform at Stagecoach next Friday, April 26, making history as the first Spanish-language act to play both Stagecoach and Coachella. Following the festival appearances, he will open for The Rolling Stones at their Glendale, AZ show on May 7.

León’s collaboration with GRAMMY-award winning R&B artist Leon Bridges, “It Was Always You (Siempre Fuiste Tú),” was just released to great acclaim, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “an extraordinary crossover between American R&B and música Mexicana.” Listen HERE and watch the music video HERE.
