ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM THESE DAYS OUT JULY 11 VIA ATLANTIC RECORDS, PRODUCED BY DAVE COBB
EXTENSIVE “BAD LOVE TOUR” CONFIRMED
Of the track, Usrey shares, “‘With You’ is one of those songs that’s always stayed close to me. I first released it on my SÕL Sessions EP in 2021, but since then, the way we play this song has changed a lot and it’s become a staple in the live show. It’s always been a song that I really believed in, so I wanted to properly re-record and release it as a single to give it the life I felt like it always deserved. Lyrically, it’s about when the dust settles after an argument and all you really want is to hold the person you love and make things right. I think we nailed that feeling in the studio, and this new version sounds exactly how I always wanted it to.”
“With You” is the latest song unveiled from Usrey’s anticipated new album, These Days, which will be released July 11 via Atlantic Records (pre-order/pre-save here). Produced by Grammy Award-winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell) and recorded between Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A and Cobb’s Georgia Mae Studio in Savannah, These Days features Usrey’s most personal work to date. Across these ten tracks, Usrey showcases his unique country-rock sound while delving into vulnerable topics such as mental health struggles, the highs and lows of relationships and his own self-reflections.
Ahead of the release, Usrey has shared two additional tracks: “These Days” and “Don’t Let Go (Hold Me Close),” of which Whiskey Riff praises, “The single rips, and you will quickly find yourself listening to it on repeat…a strong preview for what’s in store for this album,” while Wide Open Country declares, “Not only is the song delivered with stellar vocals, but there is genuine grief and emotion with every word.”
Reflecting on the project, Usrey shares, “Ever since I started recording music, I’ve wanted to make a record with Dave Cobb. He’s done some of my favorite albums by huge influences of mine like Whiskey Myers, Chris Stapleton, and of course Jason Isbell. Getting to see how Dave’s mind works and building this album with him was such a great experience, to say the least. I think this album captures the sound that I’ve been going for since I started, and really pushes my voice in a way that I haven’t before, which makes the band and I that much more excited to play it live.”
In celebration of the new music, Usrey will embark on his extensive “Bad Love Tour” this summer including newly confirmed stops at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, Lexington’s The Burl, Athens’ 40 Watt Club, Charleston’s The Windjammer, Chicago’s Joe’s on Weed St., Minneapolis’ Varsity Theater, Milwaukee’s Vivarium and Pittsburgh’s Spirit Hall among many others. He will also join Cody Jinks and Ella Langley for several dates this summer. See below for complete tour itinerary, full details at tannerusreymusic.com.
With his raw energy and timeless sound, Usrey is quickly becoming a standout in country music. Continuing to garner widespread attention, he has amassed over 310 million streams to date, performed countless shows across the country, had his songs featured in hit shows like “Yellowstone” and “Landman,” and released his full-length debut album, Crossing Lines, in 2023. Of the record, Whiskey Riff declares, “Tanner Usrey is a star on the brink of shooting across the sky…The gritty southern rock and roll sound combined with his Texas red dirt roots and earnest songwriting is a combo that absolutely rips,” while Holler calls it a “vivid, all-encompassing and, most notably, distinct album.”
A native of Prosper, TX, Usrey was drawn to music at an early age. Raised on the sounds of Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks, his musical journey took a turn when his brothers introduced him to the Red Dirt scene. It was then that he discovered artists like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Wade Bowen and the Randy Rogers Band.
